Hello friends! Unfortunately, I am writing this blog not as often as I would like. But I hope that in the future I will be able to write here more often. I’m translating every day documents and media publications to apply for our political asylum. I feel that we have translated about 40% of the total amount of texts now. It is very good. Mostly, we were able to make these translations due to the help of those people who have responded to our request for help. They translated a huge amount of materials into English. I thank them so much for helping us! But we are still looking for people who are fluent in Russian and English languages. We still need help to translate documents for our political asylum cases.

DSC_1060I would like to tell you also, that on October 13th, at the DC Center LGBT organization, we took part in a very interesting and useful round table with a well-known immigration lawyer from Philadelphia – Larisa Tenberg. The meeting held in the «question and answer» format. Everyone had an opportunity to ask questions about political asylum in the United States, and to receive complete and detailed responses. The debate was broadcasted online. For those people who speak Russian, Spectrum Human Rights Alliance downloaded on the internet a video file of the mentioned above round table. It is available at: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/53917754

anOn October 14, my fiancé Igor, our friend John Becker, and I went to the presentation of the «Campaign of Hate: Russia and Gay Propaganda» film, that is directed by Michael Lucas. In my opinion, that film is very good, but information in the film is not new for Russian refugees. It is a little bit outdated for us. But maybe Americans have perceived this film in a different way. I hope they have learned a lot of new and important information about Russia. I hope that this is not in vain. And of course, I’m dreaming when the time of making documentary films about how well and happily a gay life in Russia is, will come. I wish this time would ever come.

I would like to add that Igor Bazilevsky and I are continuing to prepare for our wedding. It will happen very soon. We want it to be very quiet and modest. Thank you to all who have been hard and persistently fighting for many years for a gay equality here in America! You helped us to make our dream come true.

I love you, World!
